Aims: Introduction to Molecular Spectroscopy and Spectral Evaluation.
Contents: (1) Basics: electromagnetic waves/radiation, quantum chemical systems, spektroscopic processes and selectionrules, atomic spectra, measurement and und presentation of spectra, molecular symmetry. (2) Rotational Spectroscopy: two atomic molecules; multiatomic molecules. (3) Vibrational Spectroscopy: two atomic molecules, three atomic molecules, normal vibrations, small molecules (symmetry), large molecules (group frequencies). (4) Electron Excitation Spectroscopy: two atomic molecules, small molecules (molecular orbitals), organic molecules, transition metall complexes. (5) EPR Spectroskopy. (6) NMR Spectroscopy: basics, spin-spin-coupling, puls-NMR, solid state NMR spectroscopy.
