Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

More than 100 exo-planets around main-sequence stars are now known, which are -- mainly due to technological limitations -- considerably more massive than the Earth. However, it is possible that Earth-mass planets are present in at least some of the known exo-planetary systems. This lecture will give an overview about the zones where life might exist
a) in a galaxy;
b) for the different main-sequence stars; and
c) we will study the different known exo-planetary systems, in order to see which of the systems are the best targets for searches for habitable planets.
