Aims, contents and method of the course

ECTS Points: 9
During this project course (2 hrs seminar, 4 hrs practical work) anatomical and morphological structures of freshwater fishes will be investigated and their functional significance determined, e.g. (1) pharyngeal jaws: the "second mouth" of fishes; (2) Weberian apparatus, girdles and fins: modifications of the postcranial skeleton; (3) predatory pressure: functional modifications of osteological structures.
