Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

As always, there is a great freedom regarding the the choice of topics actually treated within this seminar. Students may propose topics, or we could deal with
* Level Set Methods (a very elegant mathematical technique for the description of interfaces, but also for the solution of certain optimization problems, of problems in robotics, image processing, etc.)
* Modelling of flows, possibly in conjunction with the lecture on computational fluid dynamics
* Solution of large systems of equations wich arise in physical, biological, economical and other problems
