"Information is physical" (Landauer). In the realm of classical physics, information plays a central role for fields such as classical computing or thermodynamics. The relation to entropy and the solution of Maxwell's Demon paradox are important examples.
Also quantum physics can largely be viewed as a physics of information: starting from the quantum mechanical measurement process via the quantum analogue of Maxwell's Demon to the quantum bits (qubits) to understand quantum communication and quantum computing.
This lecture will present theory and experiments to introduce the concept of information both in classical and in quantum physics.
