Aims, contents and method of the course

General introduction to chemical laboratory techniques applied in palaeontology. Isolation and identification of "chemofossils" (=biomarkers) by various methods like thin layer chromatography, gas liquid chromatography etc. Characterization of chemofossils by mass spectroscopy.
