Assessment: written exam
Permitted materials: Agreement establishing the WTO, including the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), and the Understanding on Rules and Procedures Governing the Settlement of Disputes (DSU)

Contents:
This course introduces the relevant parts of WTO-Law. It begins with the historic dimension, organization and structure of the WTO. The WTO dispute resolution procedure will be explained using practical cases. Within in the substantial part of the WTO-Law, basic principles of international trade will be covered, in particular the non-discrimination rule (most-favored nation clause), customs, free trade agreements, unfair trade, as well as trade-related exemptions.
