Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims: Introduction to EU State Aid Law
Contents:
This class deals with the foundations and concepts of prohibited state aid under EU competition law. It revisits the underlying principles of EU law as relevant for state aid, discusses the state aid concept and compatibility assessment on detail, and touches upon procedural and enforcement issues. The extend and depth into which individual issues are discussed is flexible for student input and interests expressed. Student presentations serve as a means to introduce topics and prepare the ground for their discussion and are a mandatory part of the course.
