Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims:
Introduction to the key features of EU Employment Law
Contents:
Overview of the key pieces of EU legislation in the employment area,
i.e., free movement of workers, anti-discrimination law, working time and vacation, transfer of businesses, posting of workers, temporary work, restructuring of businesses and worker participation.
Method:
Overview lecture and discussion of cases on the basis of reading assignments

Assessment and permitted materials

Assessment: written exam at end of course
Permitted materials: closed book

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

50% for a positive grade, based on the written exam;
active participation in class-room discussion will be taken into account.
