Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims: Introduction to U.S. Intellectual Property Law
Contents:
This course focuses on the fundamental concepts of U.S. IP law. It will cover the main philosophical and economic justifications for the protection of intangible assets before surveying the principal U.S. legal frameworks for patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret protection.

There are no prerequisites for the class. Elements used in grading: class participation (25%) and exam (75%).
