    Aims, contents and method of the course

    Aims: Introduction to European and International Patent Law
    Contents: Various aspects of the European and International Patent Law including substantive patent criteria and procedural law will be discussed, packed up in exercises and applied in case studies. Indeed, the practical application of patenting is a hallmark of this course.
    Method: Lecture, exercises, case studies and discussion

    Assessment and permitted materials

    Assessment: Written exam
    Permitted materials: Open book

    Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

    50% for a positive grade, based on the written exam

    Practical application and theoretical questions of all topics covered in the course

    Reading list

    Materials will be provided during the course. Recommended is Visser’s annotated European Patent Convention
