How can I find and access literature about a research topic? How can I find out what literature has been published? How can I stay up to date about publications in my field? What effective research strategies can I apply?Workshop participants will be enabled to find answers to these questions through a mixture of instruction, active learning and the collaborative exploration of issues.Workshop topics include navigating the relevant information infrastructure of Vienna University Library and beyond, search strategies for search engines, databases, e-journals and e-book platforms, and applying search and information management strategies (Boolean Operators, truncation, thesaurus, index, linking services, keyword and subject terms, citation searches) to selected tools. After this 2-hourworkshop, participants will have the foundational knowledge necessary to carry out literature research for their PhD projects.Individual follow-up sessions for feed-back and individual tuition are available on request until the end of term.
