Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Differences in structure and information sequencing vary greatly between a expert presentation and a convincing presentation. It is one thing to convince your audience about your own ideas and proposals and quite another to put together a expert presentation where the complex subject matter is easily comprehendible. Both types of presentations represent a challenge in the fields of business and research. Specialized knowledge, profound facts and figures and solid arguments are a prerequisite for success. Therefore, the following will be the focus of this two day workshop.

- Matching your information to your target audience
- Conveying your complex topics simply and understandably
- Formulating your messages concisely
- Building clear cut arguments: from problem to solution
- Convincing in 5 minutes using ARGU-Strukt®
- Analyzing your arguments
- Anchoring your main messages by using effective visuals
- Learning to use professional visualization techniques such as pictures, diagrams and graphs.
- Keeping your eye on the presentation goal and reach it!
- Examples from participants will be developed, presented and optimized

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

You know that a clear presentation structure is essential for your audience as well as for you the presenter. Therefore when it is necessary to "sell" products, service and patents you structure your presentation using the convincing presentation structure. You choose arguments that are audience focused, thereby increasing your chance to get an "OK" for your proposal.

When you are structuring a expert presentation you develop a logical red line so that your audience is able to focus on your content. By using visualization you support the communication with your audience and help them digest the complex theories and abstract subject matter.

Examination topics

Learning by doing, work on your own presentations, engage in personal and group work, receive feedback from course instructor and participants, profit from video analysis
As preparation for the expert presentation, please choose a part of your dissertation for which results are already available.
