Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This full-day seminar focuses on preparing and delivering a memorable condensed version of your research especially for non-expert listeners. The overriding goal of the workshop is to develop a brief (2- to 3-minute) outline of your research and to practice communicating it effectively to inspire interest in both yourself and your work. Practice situations include informal research small-talk (coffee break, luncheon, dinner) as well as more formal contexts, such as introducing yourself at workshops, job interviews or meetings. The flexible workshop format also allows taking your individual interests and needs into consideration.
Based on relevant information about your research that you bring with you to the workshop, we will both design a condensed, easy-to-follow version that does not exceed two to three minutes and practice communicating it in informal and formal settings. Trainer and peer feedback will consolidate the learning effect.
