Aims, contents and method of the course

Researchers are made aware of the importance of their academic visibility early on in their path, it is a vital component of their impact as a scientist. Another valuable asset is the ability to communicate your research beyond the realm of academia, not only but especially when you are looking for a career outside in business. Social Media is an ideal platform to broaden your audience as well as for networking with your extended community. When applied correctly, it is also a highly effective tool for your job search.

In this workshop we will deal with topics such as:
- How to build your profile and communicate your message to a non-academic audience
- Presenting yourself and your competences on social media
- Ways to develop your social media strategy
- How to use social media for networking and job search
