Aims, contents and method of the course
In this workshop we explore what information resources you need to know about for your PhD project, what search and information management strategies might help you to find and keep relevant literature and how you can stay up-to-date in your research. We will focus on subject specific information resources and explore ways in which they can underpin your research.
Assessment and permitted materials
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
PhD students will be able to search, find and manage academic information for their PhD projects more effectively and proficiently. They will have gained an insight into academic information resources relevant to their research topic and will have learnt search and information management strategies that will enhance their research competence in their chosen field.
Examination topics
A mixture of teacher instruction and active learning.
