Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This workshop gradually introduces students to working with the statistics program SPSS.

The theoretical statistical background will be explained and applied in practical exercises through sample tasks.

The focus will be on the following aspects:
- Creating the data matrix: Data entry | Data transformation | Data selection
- Descriptive statistics: Frequency tables and graphs (bar chart, histogram, box plot) | multiple responses
- Inductive statistics: Confidence interval for means and proportions | crosstabs with chi-square test | t-test for independent and paired samples | Mann-Whitney-U-test | correlation

Windows skills are required.
