    Dates: There are two dates scheduled for the workshop due to restricted numbers of participants. When registering for the workshop please indicate on which date you would like to join the workshop, either on Saturday, 18 February 2017 or on Saturday, 25 February 2017. The workshop will start at 09:00h.

    Aims, contents and method of the course

    This one-day workshop focuses on honing the skills and mastering the techniques to visualize experimental set-ups and facilities and research results in the natural sciences. The workshop participants will learn how to create and edit visualisations to adapt for various audiences and purposes among them the inclusion in science publications such as articles in referred journals, thesis etc. and in dissemination activities such as outreach events, social media entries etc.

    The workshop outline comprises
    - An introduction to the theoretical background on how to arrange an image to best convey specific themes and ideas
    - An overview of a range of technical equipment to select from according to the various settings and conditions followed by group exercises
    - A short presentation on software packages to achieve an optimal impact followed by hands-on editing tasks.

    Assessment and permitted materials

    Preparation: The workshop participants are asked to bring along laptops and cameras (if possible).
