- the contingency of writing, grammar, and reason
- the relevance of Holy Scriptures to a religious community
- the tensions between Scripture and dogma
- the main analogies and differences between Jewish and Christian access to and use of tradition
- the main effects of Christian tradition and its ecclesiastical transmission in practice and society
- the relation between Scripture and tradition
