The lecture addresses students of Art History and is open to interested students of other disciplines such as Oriental Studies. The discussion is based on formal and comparative analysis put into a historical context.

Assessment and permitted materials

Exam (most likely multiple choice) in the last session at the end of the semester. Preconditions: regular participation and reading.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Unterscheidung und Verständnis wesentlicher Bautypen und formaler Elemente mittelalterlicher bis frühneuzeitlicher islamischer Architektur in einem regionalen Kontext, Einblick in Fragen der Entwicklungsgeschichte in kunsthistorischen Zusammenhängen.
