The exam will consist of three parts: answering single-choice questions and open-ended questions, as well as filling in a cloze text.

The materials used in the lecture (slides and recordings, as well as the literature provided on Moodle) may be consulted during the exam (open-book format). Please note that the use of other sources, especially online sources (e.g., Google, Wikipedia, ChatGPT, and other language models), is prohibited.

The first lecture exam will take place on 27.06.2024.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The lecture is considered passed if at least 60% of the maximum number of points for the written examination is achieved. Grades are awarded according to the following scheme:

100% -90% of the total number of points: Grade 1
89% -80% of the total number of points: grade 2
79% -70% of the total number of points: grade 3
69% -60% of the total number of points: grade 4
59% -0% of the total number of points: grade 5

IMPORTANT: The rules of good scientific practice apply. According to the valid regulations of the University of Vienna, the submitted examination can be subjected to a plagiarism check for control purposes (turnitin). Within the assessment period of four weeks, oral inquiries can also be made regarding the subject matter of the examination (plausibility check). According to the Austrian University Act, "[e]plagiarism [...] exists in any case if text passages, theories, hypotheses, findings or data are taken over and passed off as one's own without acknowledging the source or the author" (§ 51 Abs 2 Z 31 UG 2002, see also link of the Studienpräses to the definition of plagiarism:

It is therefore forbidden, when using additional aids (e.g. additional texts), to include foreign content unchanged (copy-paste) in one's own examination without marking the copied passage and indicating the source.
