WHEN?
The exam will consist of four questions that ask you to build an argument in relation to concepts and examples from the lecture. Most often, they will require you to relate concepts to empirical examples. The questions can be answered based on the lectures and slides. They will not require you to do additional research during the exam. However, please note that without proper preparation, the time for answering all four questions adequately will likely be too short.Open book means that you can use any material during the exam. It does not mean that you are allowed to copy sentences from this material. Sentences from slides or other material must not be copied without explicitly and correctly referring to the source. In answering the questions, you are expected to express your own thoughts and arguments. This means that answers that are entirely copied or paraphrased from the learning material will receive zero points.
Correct citing is a pre-condition for passing the exam. Incomplete citations will be considered in grading the exam. Failing to refer to the material your thoughts are based on will be considered as plagiarism and the exam will be graded as “X” (fraudulently obtained).All exams will be checked with the plagiarism detection software Turnitin.Please note that identical text passages in different student exams will be considered evidence of fraudulent cooperation during the exam. In this respect, students are advised to be particularly careful when using learning materials co-produced with other students.The following incidents will be considered as fraud and lead to grading as an “X”:
- Any communication with other students during the exam (personal, telephone, WhatsApp, Social Media,….)
- Ghostwriting (the exams or parts of it are written by others)
- Collusion (Cooperation of multiple students) that can be identified in the exam texts (identical texts including typos etc.=
- Identical reproduction of texts from slides or other materials without correct citationPlease note that the exam time includes the time to down- and upload the exam.

Examination topics
Questions will be based on the lecture and slides. Students are expected to develop a thorough understanding of the concepts introduced, and a qualified overview of the fields of research surveyed in the lecture. To perform well in the exam, students are advised to also consult the key literature for each unit (clearly identified on the slides). In this, it is not necessary to read every book and paper. Rather, students should selectively use the literature to deepen their understanding of key concepts introduced in the lecture.

The grade is determined by student’s performance in the digital written exam. Registration for the exam via u:space is obligatory. Questions will be based on the lecture and slides. Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The examination for the lecture will be graded on a basis of 100 points in total.100-87 points Excellent (1)
86-75 points Good (2)
74-63 points Satisfactory (3)
62-50 points Sufficient (4)
49-0 points Unsatisfactory (5) (fail)Tools and resources permitted in the lecture exam: In the exam, students are allowed to use lecture notes and slides, as well as internet sources.
