Lecturer at the Institute for Political Science with a focus on the Middle East, Political Islam, Religion and Politics, Iraq, Kurdistan, Sudan, Anti-Semitism and Migration.
In addition to the University of Vienna, Thomas Schmidinger also teaches as an associate professor at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) in Iraq and as a lecturer at the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences in Linz in the field of social work. He is co-editor of the Vienna Yearbook for Kurdish Studies, Secretary General of the Austrian Society for the Promotion of Kurdology / European Center for Kurdish Studies and member of several scientific societies.
