Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

The excursion will be held in the eastern part of Austria. The aim is to give an overview of flora and vegetation primarily of habitats below the timber line and their biogeographic relationships and history, for instance with respect to Pleistocene refugia. Many of the visited habitats and the presented species are of nature conservation concern, accordingly such aspects will be covered as well.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Eight open book exams (one per excursion day) online via Moodle (each open for 72 hours). Of those 8 exams, 2 can be cancelled (used as void; these also account for possible absences due to, for instance, time conflict or illness) and thus do not contribute to the final score.
Permitted material: essentially everything (field notes, specific literature, internet resources)

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Recommended for students with basic knowledge in plant diversity (plant families).
Minimum requirement for positive credit: 12.25 points of totally 24 points (4 points per unit times 6 evaluated units)
