Alejandra Cervantes Nieto is a university assistant (prae-doc) at the Chair of East Asian Economy and Society. She holds a BA in International Relations from Universidad del Norte, Colombia, and an MA in East Asian Economy and Society from the University of Vienna. Alejandra has a five years’ experience working in the public sector as a trade specialist, advising companies with export potential, as well as a two-year experience working in Academia.Her background includes working with the Colombian government to promote exports and coordinate commercial missions in Europe and America. Alejandra has also attended academic workshops led by institutions such as the Inter-American Bank of Development (BID), the Organization of American States (OAS) and the United Nations. Her field of research is International Relations, with a particular focus on international cooperation and regionalism. Her current research concerns the role of international cooperation in the formulation and implementation of Drug Policy strategies in East Asia.
