Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
You want to discover texts that often get short shrift in your studies, even though they are actually indispensable for an understanding of Christian religious practice? You want to know which contributions to the debate the teachers personally consider indispensable and which texts really inspire them? You want to deal with theses in original sound that still set standards today and that you have to be known as a theologian? You want to become active against what today is called "discourse oblivion"? You are not afraid to engage in the thinking of others, to read thoroughly and to discuss texts? – Then this seminar is for you!THE GOAL is to gain deeper insight into practical theological debates. Through individual text reading and discussion of "selected" theses in the group, we will follow the thinking of scholars whose importance is still underestimated today, who have set standards and whose theses seem particularly worthy. METHODICALLY, the focus is on thorough, individual reading and courageous, well-founded discussion. The central CONTENTS are concrete excerpts or articles by theological and non-theological thinkers, which have been "hand-picked" by the two course leaders for this seminar.
