Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim is to conduct an IT-oriented project in the field of media informatics. Based on the experience gained during the implementation of the project students should learn to carry out IT-projects on their own after completing the Bachelor's degree. The aim is also to combine previously acquired knowledge from the various courses during the study.
The Bachelor thesis is the final thesis in the bachelor's program and therefore requires a comprehensive knowledge of the subjects previously offered in the course of the study and should therefore be started in the 6th semester (see the curriculum schedule).

Assessment and permitted materials

Evaluation of the entire project, the implementation of the prototype as well as the elaboration of the Bachelor thesis. For details see course materials.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Prerequisites for participation: Mandatory prerequisites: STEOP. Recommended prerequisites: MBT, PAE.
Space allocation is based on these prerequisites.
Note: The Bachelor thesis is a final thesis in the bachelor's degree and therefore requires a comprehensive knowledge of the subjects offered previously in the course of studies and should therefore be started in the 6th semester (see the curriculum schedule).
The aim is to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the problems posed by the project tasks, as well as to enable the application of the necessary concepts, techniques and methods in order to achieve suitable solutions. The assessment is as follows:
Degree of completion of the first milestone in the project: 10%
Degree of completion of the second milestone in the project: 10%
Degree of completion of the third milestone in the project: 10%
Final presentation of results: 10%
Bachelor thesis: 60%

Assessment scale:
100-­‐88%: Sehr Gut (1)
87-­‐75%: Gut (2)
74-­‐63%: Befriedigend (3)
62-­‐50%: Genügend (4)
< 50%: Nicht Genügend (5)

A detailed specification of the requirements, as well as a guide and notes on the implementation of the project will be announced at the beginning of the course together with the assignment of the project topics.

Examination topics

Independent processing of the project tasks (project-oriented approach).

Reading list

Literature and further details are announced by the supervisor in the course.
