Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In 2023 we will celebrate the 400th anniversary of the completion of the first mechanical calculating machine by Wilhelm Schickard. In this seminar we will learn more about important researchers and their inventions which have left their stamps on the evolution of computing technology since. Additionally, interested participants will get an occasion to build their own wooden replica of Schickard's machine in collaboration with the Technical Museum Vienna.

Presentation and seminar thesis.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

For a positive evalution it is required to give a presentation and deliver a seminar thesis, both with acceptable quality.
