Aims, contents and method of the course
Sources with a bearing on the Neo-Babylonian Empire

texts have to be prepared, presentations are to be given; a paper is to be written
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Short introduction to the Late Babylonian dialect of Akkadian and to the diplomatics of teh period; study of selected texts that are of relevance for the reconstruction of the administration and the social structure of the Neo-Babylonian empire
Examination topics
Reading of appropriate texts in class; presentations on selected topics
