Aims, contents and method of the course

Old Akkadian: grammar and sources

Assessment and permitted materials

texts have to be prepared, presentations are to be given; a paper is to be written

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Short introduction to Old Akkadian and to the diplomatics of the period; study of selected texts that are of relevance for the reconstruction of the history and the social structure of the Old Akkadian kingdom

Examination topics

Reading of appropriate texts in class; presentations on selected topics
