Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to Phoenician-Punic: survey of the sources; grammar; reading of texts (short texts and extracts of longer compositions). Participants ideally should be familiar with at least one Semitic language (Hebrew, Akkadian, Arabic ...). Participants voted in favour of having the course online (bigbluebutton/moodle).

Assessment and permitted materials

Active participation in the reading of the texts is required, as is passing a grammar test. Attendence is mandatory; missing three classes is admissable

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Contributions in class and the test will be graded independently; they contribute in equal measure to the final grade. The test will consist of five questions for 10 Points each. < 25 Punkte: Nichtgenügend (fail); pass grades: < 31: Genügend, < 38: Befriedigend, < 44: Gut; above: Sehr Gut.
