Aims, contents and method of the course
The students obtain basic knowledge and skills in Classical Mechanics and the basic working of Theoretical Physics.Content: Newtonian Mechanics, Variational Calculus, Hamilton’s principle, Langrange formulation, Noether theorem, Galilei transformations, two-body problem, oscillations, Legendre transform, Hamilton formulation, Poisson brackets, canonical transformations, introduction to special relativity, Lorentz transformations.
