Die VO wird im Flipped Classroom Format durchgeführt. Die Vorbesprechung findet am 1.3.2022 von 16:00 bis 17:00 online/digital über Big Blue Button statt. Weitere Präsenztermine werden am 9.3.2022 und 10.3.2022 von 16:00 - 18:30 online/digital über Big Blue Button angeboten. Zwischen den Präsenzeinheiten wird Moodle als Kommunikationstool verwendet.

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture deals with the importance of free radicals and antioxidants in cell biology, (sport) nutrition, food chemistry, medicine and economics. Basic chemical reactions of free radicals and antioxidants and their relevance are discussed. Practical case studies from the various disciplines will be discussed. Demonstration examples and challenges in the analysis of free radicals will be presented.

Assessment and permitted materials

Due to the current conversion of the teaching system to e-learning, the examination will be held orally via the online tool Big Blue Button (access via Moodle). Please register for the exam as usual. The exact time of the exam will be sent to you by e-mail about 2 days before the exam date.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Basic understanding of the importance of free radicals and antioxidants
Half of the questions have to be answered correctly in order to end positively.
