Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, this course is held in a hybrid form.Students will have in-depth knowledge about processes and mechanisms of environmental chemistry and geochemistry that play a central role in environmental systems. Students know methods of analytical chemistry used in environmental chemistry.
Assessment and permitted materials
A maximum number of 130 points can be awarded to students participating in exams, excercises and a presentation.Exams (total of 60 points):
6 exams are held electronically during the semester, each of which is worth 10 points. The exam dates are
1. exam: October 14th; 2. exam: October 28th; 3. exam November 11th; 4. exam November 25th; 5. exam December 9th; 6. exam January 27th.
Further details will be announced via Moodle.Exercises (total of 50 points):
5 exercises are done electronically during the semester, each of which is worth 10 points. Further details will be announced via Moodle.Presentation (20 points):
Each student will hold a presentation electronically. Attendance (electronically) is mandatory for all participants. Presentations topics and more details will be available on moodle.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
A total of 130 points can be reached by successful participation of the exams, exercises and by giving a presentation. The points from all these activities are accumulated an the grade is applied to the total number of points reached during the semester. The following grading scheme will be applied:
% - Grade
> 87.5 - 1
75-87.49 - 2
62.5-74.99 - 3
50-62.49 - 4
0-49.99 - 5
This means that at least 50 % of the total points (i.e. 65 points) need to be accumulated to pass.
