Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture series is intended for scientific exchange with external scientists in the form of invited talks. Students get a deepened insight into the research foci of the invited researchers. Currently, we plan to mostly have in-person talks. However, some talks might be online. The constantly updated colloquium program can be found here: https://imgw.univie.ac.at/en/news-events/colloquium-program/

Structure of the course:
Talk + discussion should take around 1 hour. This is followed by a closed 30 minute Meet-the-speaker session between the students and the speaker.

The students are expected to actively participate in the discussion as well as in the following Meet-the-speaker session.

Assessment and permitted materials

For a positive assessment of the course you need to attend at least 80% of the scheduled colloquium talks.
Grading:
80% in-person attendance (signature list)
20% active participation in the discussion and the Meet-the-speaker session
