Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Students will learn to understand the structure and function of the nucleus, chromosomes and inheritance. The methods for the preparation of chromosomes in mitosis and meiosis, human chromosomes, basic methods in molecular genetics (DNA isolation, PCR amplification, restriction digest, DNA gel electrophoresis, cloning) will be demonstrated and used during the course.Course held partly in English (slides in German, exam in German)
Assessment and permitted materials
The evaluation consists of: active participation and results obtained; written report (molecular biology part) and drawings (cytology); final exam. Absence of maximally half a day allowed if proper reason is given.

Min. 50% of the points required to pass
- Active participation in the course- 10% (2 pts)
- Written report + Drawings - 20% (4 pts)
- Final written exam - 70% (14 pts)

18,0-16,0 pts – 2 (good)
15,5-13,0 pts – 3 (satisfactory)
