Aims, contents and method of the course

Listening comprehension strategies; Detailed/selective comprehension of spoken texts; Features of the spoken discourse in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian; Rewriting texts; Rendering culture-specific and text-specific conventions.

Assessment and permitted materials

Participation in class activities (discussions, written tasks, oral presentations) 20%, homework assignments 40%, midterm test 20%, final test 20%.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Developing listening comprehension strategies for dealing with the spoken discourse; Critical approach to the spoken discourse; Raising awareness of the stages in writing texts; Language and organisational skills involved in written composition.

Examination topics

In-class listening; Discussing video and audio materials; In-class writing; Presentations; Homework assignments.
