Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to function and form
In this course, we will be dealing with the effect of grammatical, morphological, syntactic, lexical and culture-related choices in producing texts for different purposes and target groups.
Students will have acquired skills and knowledge enabling them to select the appropriate language form(s) and accomplish their communicative goals.
Students are given the opportunity to practise their skills in the accompanying tutorial.

Assessment and permitted materials

Final written exam (paper-based) at the Center For Translation Studies.
No electronic devices allowed. No dictionaries allowed.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

90-100: excellent or 1
80-89: very good or 2
70-79: good or 3
60-69: fair or 4
below 60 is poor or 5
