Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to ongoing research topics in meteorology.
The purposes of the course PhD Seminar Meteorology are:
* To favour scientific exchange between doctoral students in meteorology and climate science.
* To train their skills in presenting and discussing scientific contents.
* To gather expert advice and constructive feedback from senior academic staff.
* To develop their ancillary skills (e.g., scientific writing, data visualization).
* To raise their awareness about research ethics and scientific integrity principles.
All students enrolled in the programme are expected to deliver one presentation and teaser speech per year.
Invited talks, held by qualified speakers, complement the student seminars when necessary.

Assessment and permitted materials

Presentation & discussion of ongoing scientific work and other relevant topics

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Each student needs to deliver:
- one teaser speech
- one scientific presentation
- 80% participation rate
