Aims, contents and method of the course
Today time pressure and competition are characteristics of many working environments. Contemporary research is also affected by these shifts, and is today characterized by temporally limited working contracts, time-limited projects, and a constant worry of being too late with the most recent results or too old for a 'good career', of having too little output in relation to the time spent in academia,
Time seems to have become a scarce resource. What does this mean for science, the people working in research and the knowledge that is produced? What does 'time management' mean? What kind of time is lacking? What are the consequences of more and more short-time contracts and only very few perspectives for permanent jobs in the academic/scientific world? These are just some of the questions that we will treat in this workshop and specifically address young researchers' perspectives. The workshop is particularly aimed at Advanced PhD Students and Junior PostDocs from all disciplinary backgrounds.
